Olcay Gulsen has signed to play a small role in the new Dutch film SOOF. It will be the first time for Gulsen to act in a feature film. The Dutch fashion designer from the worldwide known brand SuperTrash, will play a cameo next to Dan Karaty. The film will be released in theatres on December 12 and will star Lies Visschedijk, Fedja van Huêt and Chantal Janzen.
Olcay about her part in SOOF:
”I just love a challenge! When I was asked to play this part, I was immediately excited. It is a very fun and thrilling experience. Even though it is a small role, it is an honour to stand next to such big names."
Filming of the romantic comedy has already begun under the guidance of Antoinette Beumer. Marjolein Beumer wrote the script and has been inspired by the columns of Sylvia Witteman.
Soof- short for Sophie - (Lies Visschedijk) approaches the age of 40 and has everything she ever wanted: three great children, a small catering business, a sweet husband named Kasper (Fedja van Huêt) and a wonderful home. Until one day she wonders 'is this all there is?'
When Soof meets the handsome choreographer Jim (Dan Karaty) at a dinner party, and the construction on Soof's garden shed into a professional kitchen is taking its toll, the question arises: is Kasper still the ruggedly handsome man she once fell for? The more she tries to take control of her life, the more she seems to lose it.
The romantic comedy Soof is modern, recognisable, and hilaric. The film is produced by KeyFilm producers Hanneke Niens and Hans de Wolf (Bride Flight, Twin Sisters) and Millstreet Films (Loft, Gooische Vrouwen), in collaboration with RTL Netherland, Telegraaf Media Group, UPC Netherland and the Netherlands Film Fund.
Independent Films will release Soof in theatres on the 12 of December 2013.
The collected columns of Sylvia Witteman will be published by Uitgeverij Nijgh & Van Ditmar
